Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts
Summer Residency: Ephemerality in Clay
University of Massachusetts|Dartmouth/Watershed scholarship recipient, June 2019

This residency, organised by Kate Roberts, focussed on raw clay's qualities, capabilities and connection to place. The forms and history of Watershed’s studio, named the Factory, led the way to prints based on photographs I took within the Factory. After adapting a slab roller to a printing press, I carved linoleum plates and printed them on a thai kozo light paper using using local materials as pigment: Watershed raw clay, Watershed fired clay and wood ash.
